Your Website Is Built on AXF's AI Platform — Here's How Ownership Works

1. What you own and what AXF owns

Ownership is not the same as hosting. You own the things that make the site yours: your text, your images, your logo, your business name, and the finished page content we produce for you. Those are your assets. You can reuse them, copy them, or take them with you.

AXF owns the underlying system that makes the site run. That includes our templates, reusable components, code libraries, and the internal AI platform. We keep the engine so we can improve it, keep your site secure, and keep your monthly hosting cost at $50 instead of several hundred.

Think of it like a custom sign on a leased frame. The message is yours. The frame is ours, and it is designed to make the sign look good, stay straight, and handle the weather. If you want to move the sign to your own frame, we can do that, but the frame does not come with it.

2. Why an AI platform instead of a standard CMS

We have built websites on almost every platform that exists. Over twenty years we have worked with hand-coded sites, drag-and-drop builders, WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, and Duda. They all have strengths, but none of them delivered the combination of speed, performance, and low cost that we wanted for local businesses.

Our AI platform is built specifically for local service businesses. It lets us:

The platform is not a generic Content Management System. It is a custom environment. That is why it performs well, and that is also why it cannot be zipped up and uploaded to a cheap shared host like a WordPress install.

3. What the $500 transfer fee covers

The $500 transfer fee is not a penalty, an exit fee, or a way to keep you from leaving. It is the cost of the time it takes to export your site files, content, images, and assets, and to prepare them so a new developer or host can take the site live somewhere else.

Here is what usually happens during a transfer:

• —We confirm your account is current and that all one-time fees are paid.
• —We export the page content, images, and any custom assets created for your site.
• —We organize everything so the next provider can read it and rebuild the site in their environment.
• —We answer reasonable questions from your new developer to make the handoff smooth.

If you do not want to transfer the site, you do not pay the fee. You can cancel hosting with 30 days' notice, and the site will be taken offline at the end of that period. The transfer fee only applies when you actively want to move the site to another host.

4. How this model keeps money in your pocket

The whole point of using AI is to reduce the cost of building a great website. We do not need a large team to code every page from scratch. We do not need to charge ongoing design retainers. We do not need to keep you on a monthly plan for work that should be done once at launch.

For a local business, this is what the math looks like:

• —One-time build: $750 for up to five pages, plus $50 per extra page.
• —Monthly hosting: $50, starting 30 days after checkout.
• —No setup fees, no design retainers, no surprise invoices for small edits.
• —If you leave, you give 30 days' notice. If you want the site moved, the $500 transfer fee covers the handoff.

That is a very different shape from the typical agency model. Many agencies charge $2,000–$5,000 upfront and then $500–$2,000 per month forever. We do not think that makes sense for a local business with a defined service area and a handful of offers. Our model puts the control and the savings back in your hands.

5. What happens when you cancel

Cancellation is simple. You email hello@axfcreative.com from the address on the account with 30 days' notice. Your hosting continues through the end of that notice period, and then the live site is taken offline. We do not hold your domain hostage because your domain is registered in your name, not ours.

If you want the site files before service ends, you request the transfer during that window. The $500 transfer fee applies, and once it is paid we hand over the exported files. We are not obligated to keep your files more than 30 days after service ends, so it is best to request the transfer while your account is still active.

There is no exit interview, no hidden penalty, and no sales pitch to keep you. The relationship either continues because it is useful, or it ends cleanly because it is not. That is the part that should feel like an asset: a clean, predictable arrangement instead of a locked-in contract.
